Russell B. Anderson (RB Anderson) Was born in Albuquerque New Mexico. He found art at an early age, painting beside his mother as she traveled across New Mexico following her art career.
A fourth generation artist, his great grandmother was a poet and published under the name of Allison Ross, his grandfather drew cartoons, and his mother, Van Emery, is a prominent artist in New Mexico where Russell was weaned on paint that today flows through his veins.
As a young father Mr. Anderson followed his art into the graphic design field in order to make a living for his family. Now in his 50's after an illustrious graphic career, he has returned to his first love, painting fine art.
RB Anderson is an artist of growing acclaim, having studied and exhibited in New Mexico, Colorado, California and Arizona. His paintings are in fine collections throughout the United States. Combining a life-long fascination with nature, His latest landscapes are watercolors literally grow from had-made papers as he fabricates the sheets incorporating items from nature that he collects while hiking. Another unique style he has developed using his fingers to apply paint on glass and reflective surfaces. These landscapes display a dynamic play with light and shadow, emanating emotion in color and texture.
